The LOJ

The Bad Actors Repository (B.A.R.)

In the face of the dramatic increase in harassment, hate crimes and violence facing the community, #theLOJ began collecting, cataloguing and analyzing images, videos, witness reports and other evidence that has served to benefit and protect our community and been instrumental in holding bad actors accountable for their words and actions.

Through community participation and support, #theLOJ have been able to identify hundreds of masked bad actors, help keep licensed security entities apprised of potential threats and support legal and law enforcement in their ongoing efforts to protect and provide for the safety of our community.

Background:  BORN OF NECESSITY
After two large, unsettling, illegal and hateful protests took place at AISH and at the Beth Avraham Yoseph of Toronto (BAYT) in March of 2024, #theLOJ began collecting Eye Witness and Victim Reports from those in attendance. #theLOJ worked with renowned criminal lawyer Leora Shemesh in supporting the defense of members of our community with crucial witness statements and incident reports.  After the incident #theLOJ continued to interface with the effected establishments, law enforcement and political stakeholders to navigate implementing an effective solution to protect religious institutions in Vaughan, Ontario from further hate and aggression.  To the credit of the incredible Mayor Delduca and the Vaughan city councilors, unanimous, swift and effective action was taken to deter would be bad actors from repeating such unlawful behaviour in the future with the highest allowable penalty of $100,000 per offense being implemented.
