MAGEN ACADEMY was founded in response to the increased demand from our community for education, guidance & resources relating to safety, security & protection.

Our approach to solution included the design and deployment of a secure Skills Acquisition Platform to facilitate access to the guidance, resources and activities that support community strengthening and preparedness.

Through our LEARN. PLAY. EXPERIENCE. model, the Magen Academy has helped to successfully graduate hundreds of students & adults through a variety of certified course offerings which include First Aid, Security, CFSC/CRFSC, Situational Awareness, Female Safety and Krav Maga courses.

#theLOJ chose the name for this initiative because MAGEN  (מגן)  is the hebrew word for ‘Shield’ and it appears 63 times in the Torah.  It is primarily translated as ‘shield’ and ‘defense’.  Magen comes from the root ganan  (גנן) which is a verb meaning to defend, cover or surround.

Our mission is to provide our community with the access to resources, guidance and support to improve overall community safety, security & collective peace of mind in a manner that is designed to endure.
